JEEVAN JYOTI VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE

The objective of JJVTC:

• To Promote Literacy and give a sense of dignity to the migrant children and drop outs with a special focus on girl children.
• To provide skill training for self-reliance.

 Jeevan Jyoti VTC-Sarabha Nagar

Sr Norilla is the Directress of Jeevan Jyoti VTC, Sarabha Nagar. There are 10 tailors in the Centre, who are stitching uniforms for the school students.

NFE (Non Formal Education) is provided at Sacred Heart Community Centre, Sita Nagar under the able guidance of Sr. Stella D’Souza . The NFE is financially supported by JJVTC.  There are about approx. 135 students in non-Formal education classes. They study in Kg to 5^th class. They are basically migrant children who are from UP, Bihar, Haryana, MP etc. Their classes are held from 8am to 12:30pm. Punjab board syllabus is followed for these children and English is given importance. After 5^th standard they are admitted to neighboring Government schools. Regular classed are held for these students. Apart from literacy classes, good values, motivation for education and focus in life is instilled in them.

Remedial Classes:

Remedial classes were started for the slow learners after the school. This objective of this is to help them to do their daily homework, prepare them for class tests and exams. This step is taken to help the parents and students to get rid of the tuition fees which they are paying outside as the parents are economically backward and are not very well educated to help their children in studies. The timing for the classes is 2pm to 4pm.52 students are getting benefit of this incredible step taken to help the needy and underprivilege children of our society.
